MIDAS Productions

Producer

1st assistant director

Five locations, three days, and extremely stylized creatives set this shoot up to be a challenge, yet it turned out to be a brilliant exercise in efficient and resourceful filmmaking.

Working alongside MIDAS Productions, I was brought on to the team a month prior to shooting, working as a Producer, assisting with budget, casting, and production management. On-set I served as 1st AD, in charge of all scheduling, set operations and coordination.

We shot in Los Angeles in August of 2025. The product was an all-in one on-the-go music studio device. The deliverables included five unique spots in five very different styles/genres. These included: Western, Vampire, Morgue, Biker, and Futuristic spots.

This set had a lot of moving pieces. Although the end result for each spot would be only about a minute run time, there were several shots and scenes  that needed to be accommodated into the schedule. Having to take into account location moves in busy LA traffic, I put together a detailed shooting schedule which gave us 6 hours to shoot each spot.

Juggling the many aspects of stylized stories like these made planning critical for success. Coordinating with the various departments ahead of time and clarifying all costumes, production design, and camera elements allowed us to work as efficiently as possible in the short time we had to shoot.

Another similar challenge was having new actors for every role. In order to ensure smooth operations, I coordinated with all talent and crew ahead of time and was alert about what was to come next, on-set.

I am very pleased with what we were able to create, especially given the limited resources and boundless ambition of the project. Making the most of every minute was more necessary than ever for this production.
